Remembrance Sunday

This Sunday marks 100 years since the Armistice was signed in November 1918, bringing an end to the First World War. Throughout the day NYCOS Choirs will be taking part in remembrance services and broadcasts.

This will begin with an hour-long documentary at 10am on BBC Radio Scotland featuring The Ballad of the Unknown Warrior, written by Ricky Ross and performed by the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

At 4pm NYCOS Edinburgh Choir will take part in the World War One Remembered service in Glasgow Cathedral, broadcast live on BBC One Scotland, in the presence of HRH the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

You can then hear the premier of Paul Mealor Requiem: Souls of the Righteous at 7pm on Classic FM. The requiem was performed by the National Youth Choir of Scotland and conducted by Christopher Bell on 22 September.

The upcoming WW1 remembrance album All Those Men Who Marched Away, by NYCOS National Boys Choir, is currently available for pre-sale.
