New Appointments at NYCOS

Following the retirements of long-standing colleagues Carole Allen (Head of Creative Learning) and Ruth Townsend (Head of National Choirs) we are delighted to announce two new appointments to the NYCOS office team.

From 30 August, we will welcome Kenny Boyd as our new National Choirs Producer. Kenny is presently Deputy Company Manager at Scottish Opera, is an alumnus of the National Youth Choir of Scotland and went on to study singing at the RNCM. Kenny’s previous experience in the arts and charities sector along with his deep knowledge of singing and choral work will be invaluable.

Natalie Brayshaw has been appointed as Regional Choirs Producer and has taken up the post with immediate effect. A graduate of Glasgow University, Natalie has been a Creative Assistant with the RSNO and for the last 2 years has worked at NYCOS. Natalie has considerable experience of music activity production and will manage the network of NYCOS Regional Choirs across Scotland.

Kenny and Natalie will work closely with our Artistic Director Christopher Bell and Director of Creative Learning Lucinda Geoghegan to produce all National Choirs and Regional Choirs activity.

Christopher Bell, Artistic Director said

It’s hard to say goodbye to long standing and expert colleagues like Ruth and Carole who have done so much for Scotland’s young singers. We owe them sincere thanks. Kenny and Natalie join the NYCOS team at an important and exciting time for us. Their considerable energy and experience will really benefit us as we work to rebuild our choral infrastructure post pandemic. They are both most welcome.
Lucinda Geoghegan, Director of Creative Learning said

It is difficult to imagine NYCOS without Ruth and Carole – they have both been so committed to our work for such a long time and have given so much time, energy and dedication. We are hugely grateful for all they have done. I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Natalie and Kenny to NYCOS and look forward to working with them in the future. We have all been deprived of the very thing we love – singing – and Kenny and Natalie will be a great asset to the team as we move forward.
