Presto: Practices and Resources for Equipping Schools to Teach Music Online

NYCOS has been awarded funding to take part in a project to support the continuation of online music education through and beyond the Covid-19 crisis. The project entitled Presto: Practices and Resources for Equipping Schools to Teach Music Online is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union to develop flexible and adaptable solutions for remote or restricted musical activity by schools.

NYCOS will collaborate with project leaders Liszt Academy of Music (Hungary), Caprice Oy (Finland), Dublin City University (Ireland), and Sing Ireland. The NYCOS team comprises Creative Learning Director Lucinda Geoghegan and music specialist Karen Clark who will develop pedagogical activities for the digital world. International collaborators will develop multimedia resources for remote music teaching in the areas of classroom-based music, instrumental music, and choral music.

All demonstration videos, open-source tools, practical guidance, and new compositions will be shared globally via the popular Kodály HUB online knowledge centre.
