Uplifting young voices and helping end homelessness
This festive season, NYCOS alumni will once again fill the streets of Edinburgh (Saturday 13 December) and Glasgow (Saturday 20 December) with their joyful music. Former members of NYCOS are invited to sing carols together and help raise funds that will change lives through music. United by a shared love of singing, their voices will proudly champion the next generation of emerging talent.
This year, NYCOS alumni carolling in Edinburgh will reach further than before. In the spirit of togetherness and collective good, NYCOS is proud to partner with Social Bite – a charity dedicated to ending homelessness. Together, NYCOS and Social Bite celebrate community and generosity, amplifying their impact through voices singing as one.
On Saturday 13 December, former NYCOS members will gather at St Andrew Square to sing around Social Bite’s Tree of Kindness. Their music will fill the square – spreading joy, lifting spirits and inspiring kindness. Passersby will be invited to share a moment of generosity and make Christmas a little brighter for someone in need.
To be part of Social Bite’s Tree of Kindness, the public is encouraged to bring small, practical gifts such as warm clothing, toiletries, socks, books or toys. Social Bite will distribute these gifts to people experiencing homelessness this Christmas. Additionally, all bucket and contactless donations collected during NYCOS’ carol singing in Edinburgh will be shared equally between the two charities, supporting both the next generation of singers and people affected by homelessness.
NYCOS invites all former members to sign up and join the carolling, and encourages everyone to come along, enjoy the singing, and, if they can, leave a gift or make a donation.
A simple act of kindness, amplified by voices singing together, will make a real difference this Christmas.
