Helen Blackmore
A native of Dublin, Ireland, Helen Blackmore read music at Trinity College, Dublin and holds a research masters based on a study of Music Education in Ireland’s Schools. Helen teaches at TU Dublin Conservatoire, teaching and developing the Early Years Programme since 2006. She also teaches Junior Musicianship to young people aged 6-18 and on the BMus Ed programme, a degree for trainee music teachers.
Helen has delivered on-line training for music teachers across the world through the British Kodály Academy and the National Youth Choir of Scotland. She worked with Dublin City Council and the National Concert Hall of Ireland, providing workshops ranging from weekly sessions with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, visiting pre-schools and facilitating pop-up choirs in professional settings. During the first COVID-19 lockdown, Helen created a series of popular homemade videos for the National Concert Hall of Ireland aimed at young children and their grown-ups.
She holds Professional Certification from the British Kodály Academy in pedagogy and musicianship. Helen is a keen choral singer and is a member of Cuore Chamber Choir in Dublin as well as conducting the TU Dublin Choral Society and the TU Dublin Youth Choir.
