Regional Choir Accompanist – East Lothian

We’re seeking a talented Accompanist to help launch our brand new East Lothian Regional Choir from the ground up.

This exciting opportunity allows you to provide essential musical support as we create a vibrant new community for Primary 4 to Primary 7 children. You’ll work with contemporary Scottish composers’ works and music from around the world, helping to create an inspiring and supportive musical environment for young singers.

What you’ll do:

• Provide piano accompaniment for weekly Thursday evening rehearsals
• Support exciting Winter and Summer showcase concerts
• Collaborate with the Regional Choir Director and Music Staff team
• Adapt your accompaniment style to suit different musical genres and age groups
• Contribute to the positive, nurturing atmosphere that helps young voices flourish

What we’re looking for:

• Highly skilled pianist with excellent sight-reading abilities
• Experience in accompanying, preferably with young people
• Musical sensitivity and responsiveness to conductor’s direction
• Enthusiasm for NYCOS’s mission of promoting choral singing in Scotland
• Flexibility and collaborative team spirit
