Daniela Hathaway

Daniela Hathaway was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London gaining distinction in her final recital. As a recitalist, Daniela has performed concerts and operas in the UK, Argentina, France and Mexico.

Once she moved to Scotland and had a family, Daniela trained as a colourstrings music teacher and Kodaly instructor. She has worked for NYCOS, the RCS and Scottish Opera as well as in schools teaching music to children with additional needs and delivering the Go for Bronze programme in schools in Renfrewshire.

Daniela has had residencies with Platform Theatre, MC Opera and La Biciteca creating theatre work for young children and their families.

Currently, Daniela teaches singing at the RSNO Junior Chorus and NYCOS Renfrewshire Choir. She also delivers and develops community music projects involving generations working together, most recently singing and presenting the first RSNO Concert for Dementia sufferers, Memory Spinners with Scottish Opera and Generations with the RSNO learning team.

Daniela recently trained as a Singing for Lung Health leader and is delivering singing workshops for Long Covid patients with St Andrews Voices and also with Scottish Opera in the next term.
