Susan is Musical Director of the Sine Nomine
International Touring choir. Last summer the choir sang at
international festivals in Perugia Cathedral , Pistoia Cathedral
and Pienza Cathedral in italy and were also the guest choir at
Presteigne Festival where they performed Durufle’s Requiem and an
concert of French and English songs. At that festival their
programme included pieces by Judith Weir, John McCabe and John
Pickard with all three composers present in the audience! Future
concerts next year include performances at the Three Choirs
festival in Worcester and recitals in Newcastle, Cheshire and
Elsham in North Lincolnshire.
She is also conductor
of the Grimsby Philharmonic choir. Recent performances include
Purcell’s “Come Ye Sons of Arts”, Maxwell Davies’ “The Kestral Road”
Handel’s Chandos Anthem no.9, Rutter’s “Birthday Madrigals” and
“Gloria” by Martin Bates.
Susan is also Musical
Director of the award winning Scunthorpe Cooperative Junior Choir
and with this choir has conducted all over the world including the
Sydney Opera House, The Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and
St.John’s in Newfoundalnd. Five times finalist in Sainsbury’s Choir
of the Year, the Scunthorpe Choir has also sung at the opening of
the Millennium Dome, the first Holocaust Memorial Service in
Westminster , the Sydney Olympics and regularly on radio and
television.
Her current education work includes being
Musical Director of the Sefton Choral Festival at the Liverpool
Philharmonic Hall, Project Director of the Voices Foundation for
whom she also directs courses for teachers and has co -lead the
“Singing Schools Project “in Soweto, South Africa , part-time Music
Advisor to North Lincolnshire, a tutor on the ATCL teachers course
for the Trinity College of Music and a regular workshop provider for
Making Music, ABCD, Sing for Pleasure and NOEL.. Adjudicating work
has taken Susan to the Colraine international Choral Festival, the
Moray Festival, the Northampton Festival and to audition rounds of
the Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year.
