Finance Officer - Tony Smith

Tony was born in Bishopbriggs and attended Bishopbriggs High School where he study music and performed in school shows, choirs and orchestras. He went on to earn a joint honours degree in accountancy and economics, followed by a postgraduate diploma in information technology, from the University of Glasgow.

While studying at university Tony joined the Cecilian Society where he was elected onto their committee. Over his 5 years at university, he held various offices including Treasurer and President. From there, Tony joined Theatre Guild Amateur Musicals (now Theatre Guild Glasgow) where he currently holds the office of Treasurer.

After graduating, Tony worked with the accounts department in RHL for 11 months and as an accounts administrator with Powerhouse Fitness for 10 months. He is currently working towards his professional qualification.

In his spare time, Tony is a keen amateur thespian. His recent roles have included Hortensio in Kiss Me Kate, Mickey in Blood Brothers (the play) and the pivotal role of wallpaper hanger in Hello Dolly. Currently, Tony is on tour with Theatre Guild Glasgow’s concert party, rehearsing for a production of the Pajama Game and working backstage with the Kilmardinny Players, the Operating Theatre Company and the Cecilian Society.
