NYCoS Stirling Area Choir

The NYCoS Stirling Area Choir was formed in 2000 and has since undertaken a variety of performances in addition to end of term concerts.

Stirling currently has over 150 members recruited from schools in the surrounding area.

In Spring 2002, the choir took part in a Come & Sing Scotland performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. They also performed at the annual Stirling Childline Concerts from 2002 - 2005.

In December of 2003, the choir performed Christmas carols for shoppers at Sterling Mills Outlet Village. Further performances of Carmina Burana followed, with the choir collaborating firstly with the Stirling City Choir in April 2004, then with the Strathclyde University Choir at the Barony Hall in March 2005.

In February 2006 they performed alongside the Dundee Area Choir at the Scottish Showcase in Perth Concert Hall. October 2006 brought the opportunity for the choir to join together with all of the other NYCoS choirs and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to appear on the BBC's Songs of Praise, recorded at City Halls in Glasgow.

May 2008 saw the choir return to Perth Concert Hall to perform with the Falkirk Area Choir for Children's Classic Concerts. In December the choir performed at the Raymond Gubbay Glory of Christmas concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

In September 2009, the NYCoS Stirling Area Choir performed at a Nova Scotia Homecoming dinner hosted by the Provost of Stirling.
