Lorna was born and grew up in Glasgow and educated at King’s Park Secondary School. Throughout her school years she was involved in her school choirs, the Glasgow Schools Choir and Choral Camp.
After leaving school Lorna worked firstly for Coca Cola (in the lab) moving onto the accounts section of S.S.E.B (now known as Scottish Power) and then Whitbread the brewers. With the biological clock ticking away a new career as a mother was established when her son was born and a few years later her daughter. During this time Lorna and her husband also embarked on building themselves a new house. They ‘enjoyed’ this so much that they repeated the experience again and are still living there. |

Returning to full-time education Lorna gained a BA in Education Studies. She then went to work for the worlds largest distance learning organisation as an Education Advisor, working with tutors to support students through their studies moving after a few years to the position of Product Manager, developing new courses for the organisation.
Lorna joined NYCoS in May 2006 and is delighted that she is able to work in an organisation where she can combine her skills and her love of music, especially choral singing.
In her spare time she is Chair of the RSNO Junior Chorus Parent’s Committee, her daughter being a member of the chorus for nearly 12 years, was a parent member of the school board and was a member of the Heather Ball Committee, raising funds for Children 1st. She can also be seen ferrying her daughter around for singing engagements, lessons and choir rehearsals but also enjoys concerts, theatre, ballet and opera and reading.
